And it’s hotter than July!
This is a favorite scene:
“You’re welcome. Scrapper’s not really a bad guy,” she interrupted hurriedly to defend her brother. “He just gets carried away, that’s all.”
“Carried away?! You call kidnapping me and tying me up simply getting CARRIED AWAY?”
“If he didn’t tie you up, what would have been the point of going to the trouble of kidnapping you?” she queried reasonably.
Saul put an arresting hand on her arm. Stopped walking. Stared at her.
She shrugged. “I’m just saying. You said being tied up as if it has the equal weight of being kidnapped when it’s such a given part of the process that it’s not even worth mentioning really.”
“Libra. Stop. Don’t even.” Saul wanted to scream, but made himself say calmly, “I can’t believe you’re trying to apply logic to even this fucked up, irrational situation.”
She grimaced. “Sorry. Habit.” Genuine concern was back in her gaze as she said, “I know your head must be hurting and it’s dark and late. As you’ve never been here before, I’m sure you’ll have a hard time finding your way home, so I’ll drive you.” Her soft alluring voice was the stuff of a thousand wet dreams and the number one reason he had no business accepting a ride or anything else from her.
