This is so important. I need to do better. My problem is the struggle to articulate how good or bad or indifferent I am about a book. I take notes and highlights and see all kinds of meta data. I end up writing book reports instead of book reviews. So the last two books I reviewed, I just kept it short and sweet just to get the review posted right away. Just a few sentences and my recommendation.
I think a lot of people struggle with this. Many people think they have to write a long essay. While that’s welcome if it’s something you want to do, it’s not necessary. OTOH, condensing your thoughts down to just a few sentences can be hard as well, but it really makes the difference, especially at Amazon where so much hinges on reviews.
