I’ve been waiting forever for her to finish this story and trust me y’all are going to LOVE IT!!!

To celebrate our first forays into self-publishing, Lisa G. Riley and I thought we’d share a little of our joy by offering an absolutely FANTABULOUS contest that will reward not just one, but TWO, winners! We will randomly pick two people who answer the following questions correctly and who subscribe (or are already subscribers) to both Lisa’s and my blogs to win a Kindle Touch and one copy each of Lisa’s and my co-authored e-books together, Given and Stolen. If the winners so choose, they may have a $100 amazon.com or B&N gift certificate instead of the Kindle Touch.
Didn’t I tell you that this contest is fantabulous?
The Dark and Dashing contest — or as it’s more affectionately known, the Double D, will close on February 20, 2012, noon CST. Please send all answers to darkdashing12@aol.com
Lisa’s new book is Dashing Through the Snow and as you know, mine is Dark Star. Subscribe to Lisa’s blog here and mine here. Good luck!
How old were Lily and Smith when they met?
What is Tonya’s favorite treat?
What does Lily’s cousin want her to bring him back from Chicago?
What’s the name of the island Nate takes Tonya to?
Who did Smith bring with him when he left Texas?
What’s the name of the restaurant chain Tonya’s books are based on?
What is Lily’s first client’s name?
What university did Tonya and Nate attend?
I’ve only got a few more scenes to add and Dark Star will be finished. Then I’ll let it sit for a minute while I work on something else. I like to do that when I have time, letting a book marinate brings out all kinds of new ideas. This is especially true if I work on something else in the interim. Like right now I’m working on Dark Star, my next book, Diamonds on the River is driving me insane. When I come back to Dark Star I’ll be able to see all those typos and grammatical errors as well. For some reason, editing yourself is darned near impossible. Lisa will be editing this one for me, and she’s absolutely brutal, so I have to write clean or she’ll hurt my feelings.
I’m going to try my hand at self-publishing with Dark Star. A lot of my friends have encouraged it and I’d like to see how it turns out. I had wanted to get it out by Christmas as a gift to my fans, but I don’t know if that will be feasible. Maybe it’ll make a lovely Valentine’s Day present instead. Whit is designing an absolutely gorgeous cover that I can’t wait to share with y’all.
Dang, she must be REALLY excited about After the Morning After! I’ll seriously have to step up my game now.

(She hates when I call her that. Makes her sound like she’s on Jersey Shore. Which is, of course, why I call her that. She’s such a lady, and I’m so…not.) Anyway, her new book After the Morning After drops tomorrow from Loose Id and it’s my fave from her in a long time. Well, for one thing she actually let me read it. She got pissed at me for no reason when I was reading Do Me Right and hasn’t let me read anything since. Okay, in the interest of full disclosure I admit that I might have called her screaming about one of the scenes and it might have been about 2 am, but man can she hold a grudge. After the Morning After features one sexy Asian Indian software engineer (by way of Athens Georgia) who is funny as hell and did I mention sexy? Love. Love. Love this book.

I’ve never attended a national romance writer’s convention. Primarily because attending costs roughly the equivalent of the GDP of a small Caribbean country. I had decided that as part of my career redo I would endeavor to attend at least one conference. So where’s next year’s Romantic Time’s conference? Chicago where Lisa G. Riley my writing partner and BFF lives. Where’s the 2013 Romance Writer’s of America conference? Atlanta, where I live of course. Sometimes he sends a pebble. And sometimes he sends a palette of bricks. Okay God, I’m listening.
